Stepping Outside Comfort Zones: Alundis Hays

Whether you’re a social butterfly or a tad more reserved, working face-to-face with people is something we can all succeed at. Take it from Leomhann Enterprises‘ Corporate Trainer Alundis Hays, who describes himself as extremely introverted and shy. What separates Alundis from other introverts is this one admirable quality: he is willing to step outside of his comfort zone.

Alundis grew up on the East side of Cleveland as the youngest of 4. (He has 2 older sisters and 1 brother, and they are all within 9 years of each other!) His mother named him after former NFL player Alundis Brice because she thought the name was very unique and different. Growing up, Alundis played violin in middle school and was involved in ROTC, baseball, and cross country throughout high school. After graduating, he joined the army as part of the 11B Infrantry. Alundis served in the military for 3 years and then began working in factories after. He soon found out that the money was decent, but there was no real opportunity for advancement.

Alundis then decided to look for a job elsewhere that had ample room for growth. He put his resume on multiple job boards, and within a couple of days, he received a call from our Human Resources Manager, Abbigail. Alundis’ first impression of Leomhann Enterprises was that is was loud and full of energy. Even though it was like nothing he had ever experienced before working in factories, he was intrigued and decided to give it  a shot.

Alundis’ recalls being very quiet and nervous during his first few days of training, but he made the decision to step outside his comfort zone. He figured, “How can I improve and acquire new skills if I merely stay comfortable?” Though a career at Leomhann Enterprises was something entirely new for Alundis, he had an “A-ha” moment when he looked around the office and saw a team of individuals eager to help him achieve his goals. Alundis says he looks up most to our Assistant Manager and fellow introvert, Bilo, and considers him a brother and someone he can always count on.

In the near future, Alundis seeks to start a non-profit organization for inner city high school students that teaches them personal financial planning. Alundis says, “Most high school students in the inner city have no idea how to save money, set up a 401K, or budget their wages. They graduate high school, get a minimum wage job, and then live paycheck-to-paycheck.” Living up to his favorite quote, “If not me, then who?”, Alundis believes he has a responsibility to give back to the community and bring brighter futures to these students.

In his spare time, Alundis enjoys watching sports, listening to all types of music, and solving Rubik’s cubes. He also likes to volunteer and participate in runs that raise money for Multiple Sclerosis and Autism – causes very dear to his heart.

Leomhann Enterprises feels very fortunate to have a big-hearted, dedicated individual like Alundis on its team, and we are excited to see his continued career success within our company. Congratulations, Alundis, on being chosen for this month’s featured leader; keep up the outstanding work!

Shout Out To Sam: Leomhann Enterprises Shining Star

This month Leomhann Enterprises wanted to highlight someone we feel has been making a great mark in our company. She started with the firm only 6 weeks ago but has already made a lasting impression. Why? Her aura. Every day Sam comes into the office looking to add value to the team and help others. Even though she is relatively new to the company, she applies her historically studious tendencies to master new skills and learn from others. Her positive energy and desire to become better both motivates and inspires our entire team.

Sam Robison was born inNortheast Ohio in a town called Chardon. She grew up extremely studious (we aren’t too surprised there because of how diligent she works in our office to learn new skills), and as a part of an incredibly tight, supportive family. Even from a young age, Sam proved to be very gifted and multi-talented, participating in baton twirling from 2nd to 6th grade and Girl Scouts.

As she moved up into middle school and high school Sam was accepted into the National Honor Society and took a lot of AP classes to set her up for success in college (which completely paid off since she graduated from Kent state a full year early)!!

Fun Fact: When Sam turned 18 she became a vegetarian!

However, more than a book worm, Sam found she had a deep passion for helping people and giving back to others. At Kent State, she studied Psychology and realized that any profession she took in the future had to be extremely people oriented; somewhere she could help make a difference. That’s actually a huge reason she found Leomhann Enterprises to be a great fit for her next career! She could not only move into a sales and customer-service oriented position with high levels of in-person interaction, but she would also be able to work closely with our clients in the future to help improve their marketing strategies.

Sam categorizes herself as a pet lover and homebody. On weekends, you can catch her at home snuggling up with her pit bull, Duke, or rescue cat, Oliver, over some movies or a new book. Currently, her favorite shows are Supernatural, Grey’s Anatomy,  and Gilmore Girls (the original and the newest season). Her genre of reading varies from fiction to self-improvement, and you can currently find Rich Dad & Poor Dad on her nightstand.

Extremely ambitious and travel hungry, one of Sam’s main goals is to consistently learn a new skill or fact every day. With humility as one of her core values, Sam intends to learn something from everyone she meets in order to advance professionally. Career-wise, she sees herself moving into a managerial position where she can oversee a branch office for our client and make an exponential impact on people. While she is extremely steadfast and committed to hitting her goals, she is also very understanding of the need for patience and consistency and is determined to enjoy the journey.

Sam, we’re incredibly grateful to be working with you and are thrilled for your future with Leomhann Enterprises! Keep up the great work and for all of those wanting to follow Sam’s career with us add us on Instagram @leomhannenterprises!

Leomhann Enterprises: Celebrating Ciarra!

Finding an addition to one’s company who is equal parts reliable, capable, personable, and ambitious is sometimes difficult to find. However, meeting Ciarra 4 months ago as she interviewed at Leomhann Enterprises, we knew this wouldn’t be the case. A recent graduate, hard worker, world traveler – she was exactly what our company was seeking in our next Management Trainee. And since Ciarra’s hire before Thanksgiving, she has continued to prove us right every day, earning March’s “Featured Team Member” spot!

Born and raised in Amherst, OH, 45 minutes west of Cleveland, Ciarra grew up in a large family as 1 of 4 children! A middle child, she enjoyed being the center of attention and was considering extremely outgoing, participating in gymnastics, ballet, and finally finding her niche in volleyball. Throughout high school and college, Ciarra kept as active as possible in organizations ranging from Student Council, health clubs, philanthropy events and business fraternities. Following in her older sister’s footsteps, she graduated from Ohio University in May 2015 with her Bachelor’s in Health Administration & Business.

Immediately following graduation, Ciarra began recruiting for an agency that placed doctors and nurses in hospitals, and while enjoying her experience, knew it wasn’t a career she wanted long-term. Moving next into the hospitality/bartending industry, Ciarra found a passion for working face to face with customers but wasn’t exercising her love for travel. She set a goal, saved, packed a bag, and backpacked throughout Europe for 2 months before the holidays (impressive, we know). It was in London, Barcelona, Paris, Greece, and Italy she had an epiphany that her next career, upon returning to the states, had to offer travel opportunity.

Not even 2 weeks after returning home, Ciarra submitted her resume, was contacted by Leomhann Enterprises Human Resources, and then the rest was history! Since her time with the company, she’s traveled to Idaho, Columbus, Chicago next month, and New Orleans in June! Ciarra has improved already in her confidence, communications, and leadership ability, quickly becoming a trusted team member for both our executive team and new hires.

With ambitions of moving outside of Ohio, Ciarra looks to expand Leomhann Enterprises’s reach to anywhere warmer than Cleveland (haha)! She aspires to move into an Assistant Management position by the fall, and then a branch management role by early 2018! She credits the company’s leadership in CEO, Jeff Crawford, as one of the reasons she chose to work at Leomhann Enterprises, and thanks him for his continued mentorship and example as a crucial part of her growth.

If you can’t find Ciarra in the office, you can find her spending time with one of her favorite people, her 96-year-old grandma, hanging out with loved ones, outdoors or reading How To Win Friends & Influence People. Be sure to follow Leomhann Enterprises on Twitter to follow more of her career growth and office events and Ciarra, know that you’re a rockstar! Keep up the great work and keep making us proud!
